Thanks to everyone who commented on this piece a few days ago. I hand appliqued the sunset yesterday while visiting my granddaughter. As always. she wanted to touch to pretty fabrics, thread etc. She carried the orange spool of thread for awhile as treasure which of course only lasted a little while. I'm considering tiny orange beads for the rays of sun. Any thoughts??

So, you took my advice and put a brighter color spot for a focal point. Hehehehehe. I think you should use maybe tiny gold seed beads around the sun. I don't know. I have different colored copper-y color ones you can look at when you come tomorrow!
The sunset addition looks so good on this piece.
The setting (or rising) sun was the prefect something this piece needed.
I love the colors on this! I'm just learning how to quilt and found your blog inspiring!
