Cross Banner

After cutting a 11 inch section
from below the cross intersection
to make it more manageable to
use on the Emmaus/Chrysalis weekend,
the Cross Banner is now ready
to machine quilt.
I used the Escape Hatch Finish
instead on binding.

TINY remnants

No matter how whimsical my
quilted art becomes,
I still enjoy traditional blocks.
These TINY half square triangles
were cut off from some remnants
from Cindy L. to make this
Quilted Desk Art piece. (4 X 6 inches)
Thanks Cindy L.

Embellished Journal

I was gifted this store bought journal and
had fun embellishing it.
I also painted some elastic to make a closure
and to hold the pencil I also painted.
It's fun it use.

Red/Black/White Cobblestone Blocks

While making cobblestone blocks for
the cross banner, I created these
red/black/white cobblestone blocks
in between to keep the thread going.
Now to place them in a nice arrangement...
or maybe 2.

Making Soap Again

Crafting With Kindness group had fun creating a variety
of hand made soaps recently. We used Vitamin E, coconut
oil, apricot seed, oatmeal, ginger and several different colorings
and scents. Along with some store bought molds,
we successfully used muffin tins with and
without muffin papers
and small loaf pans.
Decorating our creations was
a lot of fun too.

3 Sections

The banner is now in just 3 sections:
Left, cross middle, and right.
It still needs the verse.
But, it's up off the living room floor!!
Woohoo!

Notice Any Similarities?

As I'm nearing the edges of the banner
and am needing to create some specific
blocks to fill in , I have a few
already created blocks that didn't
quite make it in the banner.
Notice any similarities?

Banner Bottom

The blocks get darker toward the edges of
the banner. Looks like I'll need to
create more blocks.
Patience is a fruit.

Bonus Blocks

Actually piecing the cobblestone
style banner can be quite challenging
and slow since each block is unique in size.
SO, I'm piecing miniature red/black
blocks for another quilted art piece
in between t0 keep the thread going.

Assembly Begun

I'm piecing this banner a little
section at a time.
When something doesn't work,
I either rearrange blocks or
make a new one.
Slow but sure.

"Teaching" Cobblestones

Recently I met with
Carol R. and Michele P.
to make cobblestone blocks.
They brought their batik fabrics,
cut strips and I showed them my
somewhat random method
to create Cobblestone blocks.
What fun!

Batik "Lights"

Last week I posted some of the "light"
cobblestone blocks for a new project
and realized my stash was shy of "lights".
Wanda generously mailed me these
"lights". WOW!
Thanks Wanda. I'm off and sewing again.

Buttons?

I'm replacing the 3/4 inch buttons
on this cool jacket I got at a cool
thrift store while visiting my daughter.
I could use 3 more buttons like these.
Any one have some?
