"Choose Life"

After practicing on a piece of card board cut to the size of the space available, I used my new favorite marking pen (Sewline) to "write" "Choose Life" Deuteronomy 30:19 in preparation for embroidering it. You may need to enlarge the photo to see the pen line.

Jo Diggs Inspired

This piece was inspired by a Jo Diggs' article in the May 1994 McCall's Quilting Magazine that I acquired at a Fiber Arts Alliance exchange. I plan to hand applique it and then later embellish and probably a verse. OOOO a hand project again!

"The LORD Is My Shephed" (finished - really!)

After suggestions of adding ears and a black outline of the sheep and also my signature, this piece is finished - really - as finished as it's going to get!

Beautiful

This piece created by Carol R. is beautifully displayed now after adding a sleeve across the diagonal and a loop for hanging it at the top edge. Doesn't she do great work!

HOPE

With the embellishments added and binding fused, this piece is finished.
I'm hoping there will be a Collage Mania 2010 so I can donate this 8 X 10 piece that raises money for American Cancer Society Research.

Diagonal Hanging Sleeve

This beautifully pieced wall hanging was a gift from my friend Carol R. Thanks Carol. I want to hang it diagonally and am looking for some options for hanging sleeve(s). Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Only a little progress on this piece yesterday but HEY - yesterday was a Nana Day and Nana Days are mostly about playing with my granddaughter! What fun!

Creating More Energy

Back to the batik remnant bin for this background which is ready for some embellishments and a verse. How can you go wrong with purple?? I like this much better than the one from yesterday and it flowed together much easier also.

The Lord Is My Shepherd"

As I was praying yesterday about how I haven't had much energy to really create a new piece of art, I was reminded that creating a new piece of art would give me more energy. SO, I used my Zig brushables to write a verse on some swirly paper, cover that with PVA adhesive, then paint a wash over it to make it bluer. Toile, buttons, black paint, fiber and black seed beads on 2 binding borders and a standing sheep combine for this little piece of energy. What do you think? It's 8 X 10 and will be sewn to a canvas after I paint it black.

With YOU - ME!!

I didn't see it until I was photographing the verse on this piece. That is when I realized that I forgot the word "you". It said, "Fear not: I am with." Isn't that true in our hearts sometimes. We remember that God is with others but forget He is with us - me! It's fixed now but I didn't get a new photograph before submitting it to the Fair.

"Fear Not"

Yeah! Hand quilting "Fear not: I Am with you." Isaiah 43:5 in the border completes the quilting. The hanging sleeve is attached. Now for the label and to deliver to the Fair later today.

Border Time

I like the QSnap frame and use a muslin sleeve to hold onto the border while quilting it. Notice 2 needles in a wavy quilting stitch. I'm hoping to finish this to enter into the fair.

Just A Bit of Silver

I purchased these earrings (minus the silver diamond shape) awhile ago but wanted some silver element so they wouldn't clash with my necklace pendant. Melanie found a great solution.

Balanced Asymmetry

My daughter helped me create these earrings. They are enough alike that you can tell they are a pair but just enough different to satisfy my like for balanced asymmetry. Thanks Melanie.

Bright And Happy

***Praise God our Internet is working again. *** I've added sashing strips, and pinned some tiny praire points to this piece. I'll open the seams and insert them and sew again. I also need to decide on a verse for this bright and happy piece. Any suggestions?

Waiting

This post is from the library while our Internet is down at home. So, I will continue to "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD." Psalm 27:14
