Opinions?

The idea for these Christmas ornaments has been moving about my head until yesterday when I began making some options. I would appreciate comments as to what you like and dislike about them...please just be kind. My main issue is with the date tags.

I like the stars...button button who has got the button? ( are you young enough to have played that game? I am not sure it has survived.) The dates tags distract. Could you letter the back of one button with the date instead?

These are a wonderful idea for using buttons, Julie...sweetly rustic. I wonder if the same star could be made using beads as well...maybe pony beads for bright plastic colors and glass beads for more sparkle. Nice idea.

I like the bead idea - except I'd add seed beads (with the sparkle on the inside of the bead)inside the center of the buttons. That would really brighten it up - if you wanted to brighten it up that is...Also you might could add some foiling to the buttons edges...or tiny sparkles with one of those glitter pens...(don't get me started on ornaments...) (I make almost all of ours). Love them!

I like them just like they are, minus the date tag. I like the suggestion of writing the date on the back of one of the buttons. They are nice and simple and have a primitive feel. I don't go for a lot of glitz.

Love them! Add another point on the star and they could be gifted to your Jewish sewing friends too. This idea would also be interesting with holiday shank buttons.

the center pentagon needs something, a dangle something sparkly. (maybe add the date to the back of the center dangle thing. it could be a shiny button or something dangling. need color too.

i really like them. i would replace paper tag with fabric tag with year stitched on. it could hang from top or dangle in middle. you could wrap the wire with homespun strips. or you could just have handmade buttons made with the year etched into it.

I think they are darling. I really don't know how I would attach the date tag.
