"Light" Cobblestones

I've noticed that my fabric stash mostly
consists of medium and dark fabrics.
That makes creating "light" cobblestone blocks
from remnants a challenge.
But, we need the "lights" to help the
"mediums" and "darks" shine.

Embellished Purse

I really liked creating the fabric for this purse.
I really liked embellishing this purse.
And I'm really going to enjoy
using this purse.
But putting in the zipper reminded me
why I don't make purses more often.

My friend, Michele P. is putting the
hand embroidery on her Dresden Plate blocks.
Notice how her skirt is very similar to her quilt block.

Need I Add More?

I think I'm finished with this piece
although part of me thinks beads or
buttons would be fun to add.
Of course, I'm ready to move on.
Any thoughts?

Ready To Hand Embroider

The wonky Bull's Eye circles are
partially appliqued and this one
is in the hoop and ready to
hand embroider the verse.

Choices

The speciality stitches are almost complete so I've been playing with some bull's eye blocks from another project to just get an idea of how I would like to layout circles before cutting into more batik fabrics.

Fabric Search

My friend Carol R. is in search of a fat quarter
more of this fabric to finish her project.
Anyone seen it somewhere?

Symmetry

This piece is way too symmetrical
for my taste but I'm not sure what to do.
I've tired buttons in the corners
of each block - too symmetrical.
I've considered fabric circles in the corners
of each block - too symmetrical.
And I still want to add a verse.
I would be thankful for suggestions.

Decorative Stitching

After marking the arrangement of these fused squares
with masking tape,
decorative stitches were begun to add more color.
But, since it's distorting some of the squares,
I decided to fuse the arrangement to the batting
before completing the decorative stitching.

Fused Blocks

I've made 20 fused strip blocks already.
I am considering adding circles to the intersections
to add interest.
Any suggestions?

Traveling Project

When preparing to travel without my sewing machine recently, I cut 6 x 6 inch squares of Wonder Under fusible web, gathered the thin batik strip remnants from Cindy's recent project and placed it in a plastic bag. I knew an iron would be available when I arrived. However, since we were so busy during the visit, I'm just now getting to this project now that I'm home.
Thanks for the remnants Cindy.

Appreciated Quilted Art

Being able to personally deliver this anniversary Quilted Art to my daughter and her hubby of 2 years tomorrow was wonderful. Hearing their thrill of it and seeing it hanging on their wall was even better. We also spent some time creating colorful pillows to liven up their living space. Thanks for a great time Melanie and Jose'.

"Packaging Is Everything"

Lynne, who taught me how to make the soap
from the last post said, "Packaging is everything."
So, she showed me her packaging and then
we made some with my name on them,
including cute pictures. What fun!
Thanks Lynne!!

Machine Quilting

After first considering using a variety of thread colors to machine quilt this piece,I decided to completely
machine quilting in yellow thread.
