"Love Never Fails" Miniature

This miniature quilt was created from my "stash" of  Free Style Cobblestone blocks.  I've mentioned before that some days I just create blocks for the fun of it  and put them in the "stash".
What another fun day to just play with these blocks.
Machine quilted and now in my  Etsy shop.

#36 More Blessed To Give

With the air turning cooler, it's easier to knit scarfs these days.
Probably time for some more Preemie Quilts though.

Painted Shoe Progress

Still pondering if the shoes need more design or not.
I'm considering using Johnson Paste wax
(which I already own)
to seal them unless anyone has a better,
more appropriate  or easier suggestion.

Painting Shoes!

After seeing some shoes painted by Mona awhile back,
I purchases these sandals from Goodwill
to try my hand at it.
It's difficult to see yet the sandals
have been sanded to add some "tooth"
before adding a primer.
Purple, green and bluish purple are the background colors.
Stay tuned.  This is so much fun!!

Etsy Store Reopening

Thanks SO much Eva for all the time you spent with me yesterday helping me re-open my much neglected Etsy Store.  Her optimism was encouraging as well as practically helpful.  Not to mention she is such plain fun to be around!  Stay tuned over the next few days as I upload many, many items.  Just in time for early Christmas shopping.  Woohoo!

Fun At The Fair

Created for hubby's office and as a class sample
for the Free Style Cobblestone technique that I teach,
this piece now can finally go to hubby's office.

All hand pieced and hand quilted,
this piece will now be for sale.
Let me know if you are interested.

Now that the Fair is complete,
I can use my new purple purse
while the quilted art leaf bowl will be for sale.

#35 More Blessed To Give Challenge

Excitement is rising as scarfs are filling the bin
to be distributed to homeless folks this Winter.
Thank you ladies who committed to knit a scarf a month since January.
This aqua/brown yarn makes this contibution good for female or male.
It IS more blessed to give!

New Possibilities

My decision to retrieve art from a local gallery brings mixed emotions.  There’s sadness that the art didn’t do well in that venue and yet excitement that new possibilities are available.  So it is with these framed pieces.   As always, I pray God will use them for His glory wherever they reside.

#33 & #34 More Blessed To Give Challenge

A quick road  trip to Ohio yielded this variegated pink yarn mingled with green yarn for the scarf on the left while the scarf on the right is light pink combined with green.  Congrats Jose' on your ordination!
It was great to see you and we are so proud of you!  Cheers!

#32 More Blessed To Give Challenge

This scarf that will go to the shelter is a bit sparkly for my taste but I'm sure the recipient will love it.

"Trust In The Lord"

This personal challenge piece now has a hand embroidered verse and 2 borders.  Now for batting and backing then on to quilting.  Free Cobblestones are just so much fun!!

Borders Added

A thin black border separates the fun motion of this miniature from the second border.
Now for a verse...
probably in the yellow on the bottom left.

FAA Workshop and BAGS

At the recent Fiber Arts Alliance, I did a brief workshop on creating this button necklace which repurposes many buttons and is a great accent piece.
With 62 memebers present, our space was bulging.  The "theme" was BAGS and there was quite a variety  from Robin's knitted and felted huge red bag
to this embellished placemat

to this usage of "extra  bug blocks".

I had forgotten the BAGS theme since I was doing the workshop but was using this purse.

Cards and Dish Towels

I'm still playing in the bag of Free Style Cobblestone blocks.
They are great to create a quick greeting card
and also to quickly embellish a dish towel for a gift.

Dying Party

Thanks Sherri for a wonderful time at the dying party.
Dying in plastic bags!!
Lots of chemicals, but we used masks and glasses.
Measuring accurately and later just adding this and that.

It all adds up to some wonderful colors of dyed fabrics.  I'll let mine sit awhile longer, then rinse thoroughly and wash 3 times, iron....how exciting!!  Good thing my Will is in order  :)

Fun With Buttons

These big, colorful fun buttons would be great incorporated into a button necklace.
A class and a workshop are upcoming. Let me know if you want more details.
