Plates For Circle Templates

There's something fun about using
what you already have to create something new.
How simple to rotary cut around various sized plates
for circle shapes because they are relatively thin.
As for the much thicker pizza stone and clear bowl...not so much...
although it does offer a nice circle to trace.
A new piece has begun of neutral grays
accented with red, black and white batik circles

I Choose To Be Strong

"We either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong .
The amount of work is the same."

This quote has been on a yellow index card for quite some time
and it was time to use it in a bit of art for the wall.

I Like Fabric Puzzles

Actually, I like various types of puzzles and do a few online
of photos, numbers, and words.
Maybe that's why I enjoy puzzling together
Free Style Cobblestone blocks
(odd  shaped blocks)
of fabric like these created from hand dyed fabric
 adding black coping strips.
Any guesses as to why they are called "coping" strips?

Change Purses To Berlin

I'm working on an order for 5 change purses.
The customer requested bright colors
and no verses since the  Berlin recipients speak German.
I plan to make 6 since it is time
to replace mine that I use daily as well.
It's been awhile since  I created  change purses.

I like Yellow - "Joyful Frequency $650

As a teen, my room was yellow,
Yellow was one of the colors for my wedding,
(not sure why I combined that with peach...hmm)
and since Hubby's favorite color is yellow,
now our bedroom is yellow.
Yellow is a happy yet bold color which is why I like it
contrasting with the blue re purposed strips in this piece
which I posted about here.
Machine quilting has begun.

Repurposing Blue 6 Inch Strips - "Joyful Frequency" $650

I'd like to write "Using Up" Blue 6 inch strips
but that's not how it works.
Instead, I've begun piecing this piece
that I sketched in my journal recently
"re purposing blue 6 inch strips".
These strips are left overs or plan aheads
as I prefer, to "Reflecting Glory".
Skinny straight strips are a wee bit of a stretch for me so
suggestions for keeping them straight are appreciated.

Perfect Timing For Hand Painted Fabric

Awhile back I met with and  helped use up/ play
with some remaining  paints from a friend's class.
What a fun day.  I created a whimsical piece of fabric
using stencils, foam brushes etc. and of course
my favorite colors, aqua, purple, fushia and green
on a white background. This created fabric
didn't work in any project I auditioned it to be in...until now.
Perfect timing - often,it is hard to wait for, but worth it.

Sewed Through Finger

I sewed through my finger with my machine last night.
while quilting "Reflecting Glory"
Thankfully, the needle went completely in and out,
did not hit the bone,  did not break off in my finger
and the bleeding stopped quickly with applied pressure.
OUCH!!
.  That along with my cold, I'm taking it easy today.

Great Technique ~ Dale Fleming;s 6 Minute Circle

 After piecing various blue batik
6 inch strips for the background,
I'm ready to add the circle.  I  successfully used
technique for my son and his bride's
I do like to hand applique but since there
are so many seams on the background
and the white circle to be appliqued,
I will complete this by machine.
Anyone else tried this fabulous technique?
