''No Longer Two But One" Hand Embroidery

I'm happy to see there's been a
renewed interest in hand sewing and embroidery.
There's actually a  Slow Stitching Movement.
I know I enjoy having something to hand sew at the ready.
This piece incorporates a section I pieced
It's for an upcoming Wedding Gift ~
thus the hand embroidered verse,
"No longer two but one" Matthew 19:6

I find hand stitching very relaxing and contemplative and like that it encourages us to enjoy the process as well as the end result. Maybe its resurgence is a response to the plethora of speedy techniques around at the moment.

I enjoy embroidery. My Mother taught me how to embroider when I was a your girl. I often embroider in the winter. It is relaxing and I am happy to learn that there is a resurgence . Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop xo
