delicious Buttermilk pound cake with caramel sauce - YUM. 

This was a new adventure for my students today

 and look what great art they created.

Circa 1990's Quilt Complete | Seven Sisters Quilt Pattern Variation

The binding is complete and label added to this vintage beauty for my client. 

Her grandma began it circa 1990s before she died. 

What a privilege to finish it for use now. 

Friends said it is probably a variation of the Seven Sisters quilt pattern.

Multi Point Edge Quilt Binding | Seven Sisters Quilt Pattern

I believe it's good to learn something new every day.

 I have learned (via an online video) how to apply a hexagon edge binding 

for this vintage quilt with inside corners. 

It's a slow and methodical process 

but isn't that the beauty of hand made quilts anyway.

"To 'Turn over a New Leaf' means to start over, 

to act in a different manner or change your attitude about something."
So, on this first day of 2019 I added the Buttonhole Stitch border 

on this hand embroidered leaf that I began 

while teaching a young student hand embroidery a few weeks ago.
