Borders And Batting Added
The choice to fuse this piece originated because I wanted to use all the ' "scrap" strips in one piece and fusing would afford less for seams. First, each strip had fusing added to the back of it. Then blocks were created but cutting, overlapping a bit and then fusing. The "rows" were created by a bit of overlapping as well and fused to release paper. The only non scrap that I received is from a yard of hand dyed that I purchased and used for 2 of the purple borders. Now the piece measures about 14.75 X 21.25 inches. After trimming, the whole piece was fused to cotton batting. I'm not sure how I'm going to quilt it yet.
Julie, this is a beautiful piece! I won't be seeing you on Tuesday (big weekend coming up, and I'll be pooped), but I'll be at the Asheville Q.G. later in March.
