This whimsical bird was a fun one from the

 daily challenge - April Art Daily 2016, 

 Hand appliqued  yellow bird is embellished with yellow and black embroidery. 

A purple and green batik background offer a great background for this collage. 
This composition includes hand created paper along with purple ribbon and nested buttons. Machine. Quilted & signed by artist,  mounted on a black board that measures 11 X 14 inches.

Mother's Day Bird Fiber Art Wall Hanging - SOLD

The birds I created during April Art Daily 2016 

were such fun.  I've begun the process of using them to

create small works of art for sale.

This black hand embroidered Hummingbird is on
hand painted blue/yellow fabric over screen fiber.
The hummingbird is sewn to a hand dyed curved pieced
background with "fly - fly - fly" machine quilted as accent.
Painted circles complete the composition.
It will be mounted on a black cradle board.
This one sold as a Mother's Day gift but there are more for
sale here. $40

After I finish the black embroidery outline,

 I plan to add Colonial knots to the centers of the circles.
