Red Batik Inside Coat Pocket

No photo description available.
I like pockets and this is the second coat I have added
an inside zippered pocket that is big enough for my phone
or whatever I want to carry.
A bit of fabric and time for a simply beautiful solution.

Cross Body Red Purse

I've created my purses for many years and recently wanted a "new" red purse.
I recreated this simple cross body  red purse from another quilted project,
added a zipper pocket, and an Ultrasuede strap.
It's just the right size to carry the essentials. .

April Art Daily - Day 29

One of the interesting things that  has happened  as I have
taken the April Art Daily 2015 challenge
limiting myself to "Hand" designs using my favorite fabrics,
 batik and hand dyed,
is to really think outside the
box as to what to create next that is unique yet attainable.
Thus, an intriguing  silk tea bag from a fun girl's day.
Hand shaped silk from a tea bag fused onto
red batik fabric.
5 inches X 4 inches.

February Art Daily 26

The pistil stitch is new to me.
I like how it adds texture  to this
strip fused red batik and hem tape
leaf hand embroidered on
purple batik fabric.
5 inches X 7 inches.

Plates For Circle Templates

There's something fun about using
what you already have to create something new.
How simple to rotary cut around various sized plates
for circle shapes because they are relatively thin.
As for the much thicker pizza stone and clear bowl...not so much...
although it does offer a nice circle to trace.
A new piece has begun of neutral grays
accented with red, black and white batik circles
