Decolourant

I recently spent some time playing with a new product - Decolorant.  It's a citrus smelling, thick product that decolours fabric without using bleach.  It can be applied with a rubber stamp, paint brush, etc.  After it dries, you heat it with an iron and the color disappears.  Interesting product.

In lieu of red or brown  fiber yarn,

 I used red and brown fabric strips for the veins.

of many kinds and so fun to create.

Color Relationships

This Art + Quilt exercise asks for 6 inch "solid" fabrics for background with 3 inch "solid" fabrics for the centers.  I gleaned these fabrics from my hand dyed fabric box. Some were already 6 inches that I purchased long ago while others were ones I hand painted using Setacolor.

Our local quilt guild has asked for 15 inch blocks made of strips of remnants.

Somehow they will be used creatively to make children's quilts for donation.

It will be interesting to see the results.
