Student's Fabric Basket

Kit recently graciously hostessed in her home a
 Fabric Wrapped Basket Workshop.
She used 3 batik fabrics cut with the rotary cutter.
Isn't it wonderful!  I like how the  random
beige strips give it an artistic flair!

Lime Green Fabric Basket

Lime green is still one of my favorite colors to sew.
This basket would make a wonderful hostess gift
or Christmas gift too.

which yielded more yarn for more scarfs....

Students Button Necklaces

What a delight to be in the presence of other creative women who were creating a Button Necklace for a  special little girl in their life - image the thrill of receiving a hand made Button Necklace!!
Below, Sarah created her necklace using some bold color buttons,

while Cheryl's necklace utilized some pastel baubles.
Libby's necklace included some fun, flower buttons

and Betsy's creation used some cute
butterfly and heart buttons.
Later, Libby showed us this wonderful button necklace created entirely from antique shank buttons.
Talk about inspiration! Anyone interested in a Button Necklace Workshop
with your group on in your home??

More Workshop Bowls

I really like it when students from the workshops send photos of their finished pieces.  Jane first created the bottom blue/yellow/red bowl then went on to create the other two.  Her email said she was planning to buy more clothesline.  They are such fun.  Thanks for sharing Jane!

Workshop Fabric Wrapped Baskets

During another Fabric Wrapped Basket Workshop, it was fun to see unique color combinations like this one Sherry created for her niece out of the remnants from the quilt she just made for her.
Ann's basket that was taking on an oriental feel was created using remnants given her from a friend.
Nice job girls!
My basket was again from my remnant bag.
You would think the bag would be
depleted by now but not so.

Fabric Wrapped Basket Workshop

What a delight to spend some time yesterday with some ladies in the Fabric Wrapped Basket Workshop I taught.  It's always fun to see how they take the technique you teach and make it their own.  This basket is what I created again from my remnant bin.  I need to finish it still.  Hopefully I'll have photos of the other creations from the day soon.

Something Beautiful is a wonderful site with mostly hand stamped unique silver jewelry creations ( very different looking than these earrings.)These earrings were created especially for me and include silver findings, speciality stones and fabric beads.  It's wonderful to have such a creative daughter who indulges my like of  balanced asymmetry and fabric.  Thanks Melanie!  She makes wonderful personalized Christmas, Wedding, Anniversary and Birthday gifts.

Purple Fabric Wrapped Bowl

Since the 2 fabric wrapped bowls went into a gallery this week, I needed another one to use for my class sample for an upcoming workshop I am teaching.   So, into the remnant bag in search of purples.  Handles on this bowl are a first for me and quite simple.
I'm not sure you can go wrong with purple fabric!

Butterfly Tins For Chrysalis

There's an amazing 3 day weekend for youth, Chrysalis and college aged folks, Journey that is an opportunity for them to renew or rekindle their commitment to Christ. During the weekend, they receive small token reminders of God's love called Agape. I collect Altoid tins (rectangular and circular) and cover them with butterfly fabric for Agape.
