"Girlfriends" Border - #ayearinstitches

I've really enjoyed this composition of female shapes.

It's 3rd in a series that I did not intend. 

The border is almost completely quilted with

white quilting thread.

Heart Block For Hospital's Heart Path Program

Each year Quilt Guild members are invited to make a "Thank You" block f

or the outgoing Guild President. 

This year's recipient requested red hearts to create a piece

 for our local Hospital's Heart Path Program.
Red Feather Stitch Outline on pieced red batik heart

on white background. I also printed "love" on the center section.

Blue Ensemble - "Girlfriends" Quilted Art

Day 192 #ayearinstitches 
3 strands royal blue Chain Stitch for pants and blouse 

with Back Stitch accent around blouse Starburst.

Now these 3 girlfriends are ready for a border.

Wedding Anniversary Gift Continues

A few more hand embroidery stitches - 

2 strands yellow DMC Alternating Running Stitch in the bottom yellow batik section 

& Cross Stitches in the upper cream batik section.

I am planning to add some buttons too.

It's Wedding & Anniversary Season - Heart Art

Weddings / Anniversaries are aplenty this month so 

I've begun some hand embroidery on a multi pieced batik fabric quilted heart. 

3 strands light green Button Hole Stitch,

3.strands pink DMC Lazy Daizy Stitch &

 2 strands yellow DMC Colonial Knot centers.

I will mount it on a black cradle board for ease of display.

Friendship Girls | #AYearInStitches

Summer has been full of renewing friendships near and far.

No wonder my art reflects that

with these 2 black/white female figures

hand appliqued down with black Pearle Cotton thread.

Next came a fuchsia Running Stitch skirt  and belt with one Lazy Daily flower

and Colonial Knots for the bodice section.

Her friend has a lime green Chain Stitch outline and Cross Stitches

in the centers of the printed flowers.

Of course a third was needed.  She's being appliqued down with

black Pearle cotton thread.  

Looks like they are having a fun time.
