Christmas Gifts& Stocking Stuffers For Sewers And Quilters

I really enjoy needle handwork and do it often.
Sadly, I've lost many needles and my family tends to "find" them
 unexpectedly and not happily.
So, recently my now grown daughter purchased
a Needle Keeper / Minder for me in preparation to watch her 2 little boys on a trip...
go figure :)

What a great tool! I didn't loose one needle the whole 2 weeks!
Success. So I decided to create some and share the fun.
$10 includes S & H with lots of color options. Clink on the following link.

OOOPS - Forgot to Quilt It

Okay, maybe you've never done this, maybe you have.
In my excitement to complete this Wedding Gift,
I wrapped it in pretty paper and was preparing to add a bow and I
realized I had forgotten to photograph it for my blog.
So, I carefully unwrapped it and was going to photograph it,
when I realized that after doing the "escape hatch" finish
where binding is not necessary, I actually forgot to quilt it.
HA!  I'm so thankful I caught it before the big day!

Crazy About Curves Workshop Progress

Yesterday I posted about the
I've completed the pinning of the fabric
and the left half is blind stitched down.
I'm not completely satisified with the top 3 light blue hand dyed fabrics
being the same and am open to suggestions as to
how to possibly differentiate them slightly.

Crazy About Curves Workshop With Vikki Pignatelli

I had opportunity to take the Crazy About Curves Workshop
Below are some are 2 of Vikki's small Quilted Art pieces.
Poppy and Waterlily which are even more
beautiful in person.
Learning her  clever technique was fun and Vikki
is an excellent teacher.
I'll post progress on my creation tomorrow.

"Righteous Will Thrive Like A Green Leaf" Proverbs 11:28 Clergy Stoles

In creating this newest Clergy Stole
for Ordinary Times, I sought out
a verse to hand embroider on the left hand side.
Remembering the
I created previously, I considered that verse but
felt it wouldn't fit  in the space
until I considered embroidering the verse vertically.

"What's In Your Hand?"

What's In Your Hand? Quilting Fiber Arts Wall Art Hanging Batik Fabrics
This wall hanging is back from the Asheville Quilt Show
and ready for sale in my Etsy Shop.
During the online April Art Daily 2015 online I hosted, I personally challenged myself to create a "hand" block daily using various approaches along with hand dyed or batik fabric.
I blogged daily of my adventure not having a specific plan of what to do with the blocks.
It was so much fun researching "hand" formations and choosing numerous techniques.
I chose to combine them into this approximately 32 inch X 32 inch Wall Art . 2nd photo is the "Hand" label on the back of the Wall Art.
The title comes from something Basket Artist, Matt Tommey often asks artists, "What is In Your Hand?" meaning what has God already given you to work with?

Modern Ordinary Times Reversible Clergy Stole

 Side 1
What fun to create an  improvisational  pieced
Reversible  Clergy Stole from
green batik fabrics. I also pulled a few Free Style Cobblestone
blocks previously pieced from my stash.
 Side 2
I'm still enjoying creating with the green solid fabrics
from my friend Eydie. A challenge
since I primarily work with batiks.
It's available for sale in my Etsy Shop.
