Nothing Is Impossible

I had the first two words of this verse embroidered already when I realized it was too far to the right for the design. So...I took them out, sewed lines to mark spacing, took out the water soluble verse, wrote it again and started embroidering...again. Many say they don't have patience to create art quilts but I say it grows my patience. "For nothing is impossible..."

Purple Time

The background is almost complete and I've begun selecting fabrics to create a purple version of this piece like I mentioned a few days ago. I'm liking it so far. Purple is such a great color.

From Remnants To Greeting Card

These ginkgo leaf shapes were cut out from the background when the colorful ones were appliqued on top. A little stamping, screen fiber and verse and voila' - a couple of greeting cards.

Thank You LORD

Happy Thanksgiving!
I created this miniature quilt one block a month in 1998 challenging myself to design and make a block celebrating that month using at least one yoyo in the block. It is hand quilted with "98" in the green squares. Most blocks are self explanatory however, my daughter graduated in May and my birthday is in June.

Free Circles

I'm sure I'm not the only one who prepares too much for a project. I completed this piece that was begun a long time ago just in time to enter it in the "all Hand" category for the Fair. I am "over" these bonus circles so if any one is interested in them let me know. If there's more than one, I'll draw a name.

Christmas Present Completed

Commissioned by her children for Christmas, this wall hanging is now ready to be delivered so they can wrap it up. I've made a pattern from it in hopes to eventually market the pattern. Wouldn't it be nice with purple flowers! The verse is, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart". Proverbs 3:5

Machine Quilting Again

I've begun machine quilting using lots of colored thread for this piece that I began in the Improvisational Quilt Workshop using some of my Bull's Eye doodles and weaving batik strips and other fiber.

To celebrate 400 Posts, I'm giving away one of my Quilted Desk Art pieces which retails for $26. (Batik fabric collage with hand stamped verse behind a hand painted mat in a 5 X 7 frame.) It would make a wonderful Christmas gift or even something special to keep for yourself. Leave a comment to enter the drawing and if you mention my Give Away on your blog with a link back to my blog, I'll enter your name twice. Drawing will be Saturday, November 14th. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Changing Colors

After incorporating this block with the verse embroidered in a yellowish green, I realized it would look better in a darker color. SO, little by little, I'm first taking out a few stitches and filing in the remaining holes with black floss. I like it much better. The verse is, "Show me your paths O LORD, teach me your ways." Psalm 25:4.

These fun 5 inch strips that arrived in the mail along with other scraps from Wanda combine to make a Preemie Quilt for our local Neonatal Unit. One woman's scraps are another woman's Preemie Quilt. Thanks Wanda!

Hand Embroidery

Although using a water
soluble marker helps,
sometimes it's necessary to
change during the process of
hand embroidery. The verse is,
"Trust in the LORD
with all your heart."
Proverbs 3:5

"Darkness To Light"

It's been fun reacquainting myself with this quilt that I completed in 2002. My son's full name is hand quilted in the border along with "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Additional Sleeve

By adding an additional hanging sleeve on the length side of this quilt that was completed and given for a dorm quilt , it will now be able to be hung in the entrance of my son and his wife's new home.

Blessing Greensboro Football

It was "us" that was blessed by the opportunity to feed these grateful 95 football players/coaches and bus drivers Friday night much home made food prepared by many folks and a short inspirational time with our pastor. God is SO good.
