Fabric Wrapped Basket Workshop

What a delight to spend some time yesterday with some ladies in the Fabric Wrapped Basket Workshop I taught.  It's always fun to see how they take the technique you teach and make it their own.  This basket is what I created again from my remnant bin.  I need to finish it still.  Hopefully I'll have photos of the other creations from the day soon.

FAA Workshop and BAGS

At the recent Fiber Arts Alliance, I did a brief workshop on creating this button necklace which repurposes many buttons and is a great accent piece.
With 62 memebers present, our space was bulging.  The "theme" was BAGS and there was quite a variety  from Robin's knitted and felted huge red bag
to this embellished placemat

to this usage of "extra  bug blocks".

I had forgotten the BAGS theme since I was doing the workshop but was using this purse.

Student Work

Mary H. recently took the Free Style Cobblestone Block workshop. She did a wonderful job and wrote "It's such a fun and easy technique..." Thanks for sharing Mary H.

Teaching Is FUN!

I recently taught a  workshop on Free Style Cobblestone Blocks to a wonderful group on ladies in a nearby town.   Witnessing their variety of fabric choices, learning styles and personalities just reaffirmed my hunch that this fun technique works for all.  What fun to see the different blocks coming to life.  I hope to have photos of their creations when they are available.

Cathy chose to work just with blue/yellow and red.
These ladies worked at stretching their skills and had fun too.
It was interesting to see the percentage of women who came with purple fabrics.
(Check out that foldable trash bin!)

Some of Mary's finished blocks.
