After drawing some simple shapes and creating them into plain fabric shapes, this exercise was to arrange them into a pleasing composition onto a "plain" muslin background fabric. Next was to stretch the shapes into new ones keeping the basic shape. Each piece is an 8" X 11".
I hardly own much "plain" fabric and preferred to use a light yellow background as to a boring muslin one. I also learned that I could draw a dragonfly and a ginkgo leaf free handed.

Julie, that's where fabric paint comes into play. I do not have some fabrics I need sometimes, but I take out the fabric paint and just like a child paint away. You can have any color you want this way and it is not expensive.
