Creating Young

Shortly after arriving my 6 year old granddaughter asked if we could create some of "those cards".
I knew she meant Fabric Post Cards since we've created them together before and she saves all the ones I have sent them for Valentine's Day, Easter and Just Because.
Tumbled batik fabric bin offered many options and little hands got busy chosing and arranging.
Left here to be machine stitched, the Fabric Post cards went to them in the mail yesterday. What fun!

Lattice Style Background

As part of a art mentor project,
I created this lattice style  cream, light yellow, white
and hand painted cream batik fabrics.
Surprisingly, I saved the freezer paper pattern
used on a previous piece.

Mosaic Tile Mirror

My first attempt at a bit of tile art is using
tile remnants from our tub renovation
and Dollar Tree flat  glass marbles  to
create a cohesive look including the mirror.

Holy Resurrection Quilted Reversible Purple White Gold Ministerial Stole

What a fun piece to create with purple Free Style Cobblestones blocks and white and gold lame' piecing on the reverse side.  I took the stole with me into town while running errands and spotted this stone wall with an iron  fence that made a great back drop.  There was even a church above the wall in the background.
More details in on my ETSY Page.

Super Sew Party - Truth Will Set You Free - John 8:32

Seemingly apropos, hand embroidering through the Ugly Assignment
beneath and bits of paper comments was difficult especially on the word "The"
however it continued to go smoother.
At our Annual Super Sew Party, I completed the
machine quilting using various somewhat matching colors
to enhance the hand dyed fabrics and not compete with them.

Hand Dyed Free Style Cobblestones

To cover the Ugly Assignment from yesterday,  I was instructed to create
a beautiful piece.  As I delved into the hand dyed fabric remnant tub,
I  was happily  surprised  to find some  forgotten Free Style Cobblestone blocks
from a previous creating  day.  I purposefully chose to only add 3 borders
leaving the remaining border open ended.

Ugly Assignment

I recently began meeting with an art mentor
who gave me the task of creating an ugly piece representing
negative comments made by others about my art.
I quickly created this from my remnant bag.
Next, I wrote the comments on paper and tore them into pieces
praying and releasing the comments to the LORD.
