Super SEW Party -Day 6 Your 30-Day Art Challenge & Day 35 A Block A Day Challenge

One of my favorite parties of the year 

is an annual Super Sew Party - no football included.

Over the years the group has changed but we gather with

lots of yummy snacks and create for an extended time.

SO MUCH FUN!

Your  30-Day Art Challenge prompt for

Day #6: Take a walk, 

collect 5 things and incorporate them 

into a piece of original art.

Interestingly as I walked in the rain today,

I gleaned some surprisingly representative items:

A heart shaped leaf (my heart), a

silver thread( being refined like silver), a penny (His provision) ,

 a half hickory nut shell (He carries me)

and a really white rock (He is my rock) .

Unintentionally, this seems a bit like a sail boat.

Today's Block A Day Challenge 

is from a green swirl batik fabric surrounding

a deep purple batik fabric.

Super Sew Party - Truth Will Set You Free - John 8:32

 

Seemingly apropos, hand embroidering through the Ugly Assignment

beneath and bits of paper comments was difficult especially on the word "The"

however it continued to go smoother. 

At our Annual Super Sew Party, I completed the 

machine quilting using various somewhat matching colors 

to enhance the hand dyed fabrics and not compete with them.

Super Sew Party 2012

 Leaving football to hubby and his friends,

I gather with other creative women for our traditional Super Sew Party.

Carol's above bed sized scrap quilt that is ready to quilt is amazing.

 Carol also showed this Christmas piece that just needs a few more details.

 Michele is hand quilting this beauty for a special spot in her new place. 

Many other creative projects going that I didn't get photographed.

A great, productive and creative time with friends....lots of yummy food too.
