Elizabeth Garlington was the speaker
at the Modern Quilt Guild meeting
a few months ago. After her presentation, Elizabeth
asked the group to each put the 2 fat quarters brought for a mystery challenge on a table.
I presumed that we were going to use our 2 fat quarters to put a composition together just using our
original fabrics. I was surprised when we were to cover our eyes and choose 2 new fabrics from the table for our challenge. I chose this red linen and a cotton beige. I use red a lot in my art but not beige making this quite a challenge for me.
Hand appliqued circles and squares are embellished with Big Stitch circles and
improvisational lines.
20 inches long X 16 inches wide.
"Gearing Up" - $325
Modern Quilt Guild Challenge. 2 Blindly chosen fabrics. Red linen (I loved) & solid beige (I did not collaborate with hours of Big Stitch & hand quilting.
