Vintage Hand Applique Girls In The Rain

This vintage  hand appliqued hand embroidered piece
was gifted to me and I'm pondering how to
use it in a wall art hanging.  Should I simply
quilt it as is or add blocks around it?  Suggestions?

I think the simplicity of this piece is lovely. I would not add blocks to it. Such a nice gift!

Add my vote to the "no blocks" camp. At most a nice border that picks up one of the bright primary colors, and a contrasting binding. It is such a pretty fabric

I don't know... how large is it? Do you have a perfect place to display it? Does it seem like it needs a frame which is really what a border is. Is it from the 50's, you could google it and see what people would have done when it was made. LeeAnna at not afraid of color

I agree with Leeanna. I would try some research into quilts from that era to see what a good border option would be. Something simple would set it off nicely and make it look finished. Make sure to show us what you decide!

Oh That's so sweet! I might add a simple border to frame it but not blocks, let the panel shine!!
