My Dad Loved Birds Too & Day 168 A Block A Day Challenge.

Birds singing outside - what a delightful sound. I bought a set of all cotton dish towels 

at TJ, washed and ironed them then added this cheerful bird.

I enjoy the black improvisational stitching. 

I'm hoping the towels come out a bit less wrinkly next wash.

Circular spiral hand quilted in aqua Pearle cotton for this 

purple/green Free Style Cobblestone Block.

 Also, variegated purple squiggles for the light purple coping strip.

"Morning Song" SOLD

Living in the Western NC mountains and a large bedroom window 

offers me  this peaceful morning scene 

as the cheerful birds begin the day with song. 

A blueberry twig from our woods was used for the hand embroidered design 

over the morning sun in this collage of rust dyed, 

 hand dyed, and cotton fabrics. 

2 appliqued birds have hand embroidered legs and big stitch embroidery 

enhances the machine quilting.

2 additions birds make a special label on the back of the Wall Quilt. 

Approximately 30  inches X 21 inches.
