Free Style Cobblestone Play
I'm playing in my Free Style Cobblestone blocks bag again and what fun it is to already have blocks to play with when the urge comes to create something quickly. These blocks are all under 4 inches square which qualifies it for a true miniature quilt. Now on to borders and finishing.

2 Fabric Wrapped Clotheslines Bowls
Ok - Not that I need a new project, or don't have project that needs completing,
but this green bowl was fun to complete....so much so that I dug again into my remnant bag
and made a red one!

No Ugly Cobble Stone Blocks
While teaching the Free Style Cobble Stone Block to a group recently, I decided to challenge myself to use some of my less desirable blocks to show there are no ugly ones. I'll give away a Fabric Art Post Card to the first one who guesses which 5 blocks in this piece are my less desirable ones.

Teaching Is FUN!
I recently taught a workshop on Free Style Cobblestone Blocks to a wonderful group on ladies in a nearby town. Witnessing their variety of fabric choices, learning styles and personalities just reaffirmed my hunch that this fun technique works for all. What fun to see the different blocks coming to life. I hope to have photos of their creations when they are available.
Cathy chose to work just with blue/yellow and red.
These ladies worked at stretching their skills and had fun too.
It was interesting to see the percentage of women who came with purple fabrics.
(Check out that foldable trash bin!)

Fabric Wrapped Clothesline Basket
A bonus of arriving early to give my demo at the Asheville Quilt Show recently, was to see the demo by Joan on Fabric Wrapped Clothesline baskets. So, into my remnant bag I dug to find these Christmas fabrics to play. I plan to continue this basket which will mean more remnants used. That works for me.

"Piecing" More Fabic Bowls
I've come to the last of the
triangle batik remnants from Marti
using them to create more fabric bowls.
Backing fabric and threads chosen.
Now to begin the quilting.

Aqua Quilting
After starting quilting a spiral with a variegated purple thread, I took it all out since it blended too much for the look I desired. Now I'm using a darker variegated aqua thread. Much better. Ahhh, hand quilting again.

Blue Ridge Parkway Anniversary Quilt Complete
Several members created a block for this Quilt to celebrate the Blue Ridge Parkway's
75th Anniversary. How beautifully it was put together and quilted.
It will go to hang in Galax, VA before returning home to hang upstairs in the Folk Art Center in Asheville, NC.
My block reflected the camping aspect of the Parkway.
Hubby and I honeymooned camping along the Parkway
and have returned to camp there many times since.
The blocks are just amazing!

Christy's Birthday Card Creation
Fiber Arts Alliance artist, Christy, created this wonderful birthday card for her mother using a variety of fibers and findings in "pockets" created from dryer sheets. She said she was inspired inspired by a project in the new "Sew Somerset" magazine.

Something Beautiful Earrings
Something Beautiful send these beautiful earrings
to me in the mail. It doesn't hurt that it's my
daughter's business and she indulges my fondness
of asymmetry.

Lime Green
Using only all hand dyed fabric, this lime green piece
resulting from a Color Relationships excercise
is ready to quilt.
Question is, do I want to finish it quick
with machine quilting
or slowly having it
for a hand quilting project?
