Batik Strings Into Fabric Locker Hook Rug

As I'm creating blocks
for the Scrap Vortex QAL from the batik remnant bin,
I'm adding the too thin to piece strips to a bucket where
the strips are creating this Locker Hook Rug.
I first learned of Locker Hook Rug making
when I worked at a local quilt shop.
It's so easy, we gave on the spot demonstrations with
the rung in process by the check out register.
Of course I created one of my own that has stood the
test of time at my front door.
It uses up thin fabric strips, easy take along project and
washes wonderfully. What's not to love?
This new rug is totally random and I like the idea of using up even the skinniest strips.

I finally know how my grandmother made a piece that I love! Thank you for that!

I did this years ago but now want to do it again. I do remember having a hard time finding the base. Where did you get yours and what do they call it? Thanks

What a great way to use up the scraps!
