Blue Textile Background

No photo description available.
Playing in the blue batik remnant bin produced this background
for the next piece in the Flower Collection.
Now to choose a flower for.it.
OH, a new batch of Note Cards are being printed
of the Trilogy from last week. So exciting.

Batik Strings Into Fabric Locker Hook Rug

As I'm creating blocks
for the Scrap Vortex QAL from the batik remnant bin,
I'm adding the too thin to piece strips to a bucket where
the strips are creating this Locker Hook Rug.
I first learned of Locker Hook Rug making
when I worked at a local quilt shop.
It's so easy, we gave on the spot demonstrations with
the rung in process by the check out register.
Of course I created one of my own that has stood the
test of time at my front door.
It uses up thin fabric strips, easy take along project and
washes wonderfully. What's not to love?
This new rug is totally random and I like the idea of using up even the skinniest strips.

Scrap Vortex QAL - Crazy Mom Quilts

  I've chosen to join the
with Crazy Mom Quilts blog.
I had a slow start as I was helping someone else sew using my machine
although I pieced in between.
What fun to go through the  tiny batik fabric remnants.
It's coming along nicely and I'm considering
adding  solid read asymmetrical sashing strips.

"Saved Remnant" Miniature

I've been saving these remnants from
to create a miniature to enter into a quilt show.
Entry form is due tomorrow and I don't have
dimensions of the quilt yet - lol.

CONGRATS & New Fiber ARt Idea

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
Philippians 4:13
is the highlighted verse on this
new fiber art idea while playing in my batik remnant bin.
Can you guess what is the base for the art?
Congratulations to Elizabeth whose name was drawn for the 1000th Post Give Away.

Free Style Cobblestone "Mice"

Instead of merely  ending a seam using a scrap of fabric to collect the threads ~ I call that a "Mouse"  ~ I use remnants from the batik bin to catch the threads, sew a short seam and after 4 times, they  create these Free Style Cobblestone blocks that go into my stash for another creative adventure.

"Blue" Cobblestones & "Green" Cobblestones

The stack is growing as I continue to create out of the remnant bin creating "blue" cobblestones

and "green" cobblestones.
2 different projects in progress.

Batik Remnant Playtime

Spreading out the remnants on the floor aids in finding just the right ones to create
Free Style Cobblestone blocks to go with the embroidered section from the piece my dog ate.
PS - Patricia, your question/comment yesterday came as a "no reply".
