Birthday Quilt Block For A Friend | Hand Embroidered Leaf

No photo description available.
A friend is celebrating her 40th birthday this year.
She provided fabric to several people and requested
12 inch quilt blocks that she will combine into a quilt
to celebrate her milestone.
I added a few of my own fabrics, my improv piecing
and a hand embroidered leaf. Happy Birthday to my friend!

Free Styled Bed Quilt - Commission Quilt

Image may contain: indoor

"Julie, I love it! She freestyled on a quilt for the guest bed in my office.
It looks great with the wall hanging (square piece on the left) she made earlier.
Check out her Etsy shop titled juliebagamary. Thank you!!"
I can share this Client Commission now.
I added Free Style organic shapes to her ready made King size quilt.
I love how it turned out. Thanks for sharing Lisa.

Female Silhouette & Concentric Circles

Image may contain: stripes
After deciding to add the teal borders
on this composition from the workshop with Didi Salvatierra,
I embroidered in Chain Stitch a
female silhouette.  Now I've begun adding more texture by
hand quilting in black thread in concentric circles.

Auditioning Teal Borders - Too Bright?

Image may contain: stripes
I've been pondering how to brighten up this
palate from a workshop recently.
You can see it
straight from my workshop with Didi Salvatierra.
So, today when I saw this teal fabric in my stash,
I wondered, what if.....?
I may also add some other pops of color extending into the border.

Which Direction? Improvisational Piecing With Didi Salvatierra

I took a great workshop with Didi Salvatierra today.
I used many precut hand dyed fabric strips
gleaned from another quilter quite awhile ago.
The white is the design wall NOT park of the composition.
My color palate is a bit brighter
so I plan to add some bright accents - Maybe embroidery
or maybe just machine quilted.
So, the question is, which orientation is most pleasing in your opinion?
