"Be Healed" Embroidery Complete

Since I chose not to mark the fabric, 

I used parchment paper pinned to the

Fiber Art piece for the word placement.

 I hand embroidered

"be healed" in black Peale Cotton thread. 

I'm not sure it was the best way to do it,

but it worked.

Mother's Day Fiber Art Card

Mother's are so special in our lives and often it's a challenge to find them 

a fitting gift to express our love.

I like to create Fiber Art Cards and use the opportunity

to share Fiber Art and words of love.

I like to get started on Fiber Art Cards early.

I also like to offer workshops so others can create them.

They are a perfect little "I love You".

April Art Daily Progress | A Year In Stitches

Our Surface Design Group experimented with

Gelli printing again - this time with masks of female shapes.

What fun!  I concentrated on paints of aqya gray & lime.

Now, I'm creating a small collage with 4 of them.

this one has a Seed Stitched "blouse" in aqua over gray.

April Art Daily Update - Collaboration With Chloe

Day 15 April Art Daily  & Day 105 #ayearinstitches 

When my 9 year old granddaughter gave me this drawing

, I knew right away it was a great composition and I planned to use it for a Fiber Art piece. 

During the #ayearinstitches & April Art Daily challenges,

 I hand embroidered the batik fabric pieces in collage style,

 added accents and finally machine quilted it.  

She loves it....me too.

This composition, "be healed" is making progress. 

Machine quilting 4 different designs in 4 quadrants of the background

 and fun aqua swirls quilt the hand appliqued flower petals. Lots of stitching.
