Wash Your Hands | Art Quilt | What's In Your Hand?

With all the awareness of "hands"....

"What's In Your Hand" is an assemblage of 26 different blocks honoring hands all created by hand work. Each hand formation has something unique to offer though embroidery, painting, stamping, applique, and embellishments. Notice the hand completely created of buttons honoring Sign Language, "I love you." Every hand reflects joy and tells a story.

Created during the online April Art Daily, the challenge to create a "hand" block daily using various approaches along with hand dyed or batik fabric took shape. Blogging daily of this adventure while not having a specific final plan became a discipline of joy and delight. Combining each block into this Modern Art Quilt was the perfect solution.

Completely hand quilted.

Artist, Author& Speaker Matt Tommey often asks, "What is In Your Hand?" meaning what has God already given you to work with?

Measuring 32" X 32" - Wooden hanger included upon request making it even easier and Ready to Hang. Available - etsy.com/shop/juliebagamary

You can view details of each block recorded on my blog: http://juliebagamary.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

I began Sunday Sew Parties at my home awhile back

because I love people, I love teaching art

and I love helping others be creative with fabric and thread.

I look forward sharing creative times again with students

but for this beautiful Sunday afternoon,

I will enjoy stitching alone.

makes this blouse a bit more fun.

I'm still pondering adding fabric somehow on the collar

"Full Of Hope" Female Wall Quilt | April Art Daily

#COVID19 has me reorganizing and I came across this sweet piece that I never listed in my Etsy Shop. "Full Of Hope" is in the Honoring Women Art Section.

Hand written on the left side is "HOPE", "esperanza" (hope in Spanish)

and "hoffen" (to hope on German).

Also, I plan to host April Art Daily again this year

where I will feature one of my Quilted Art pieces daily.

I'd live for you to join me at April Art Daily

in whatever creative outlet you use.

"Be Healed" Embroidery Complete

Since I chose not to mark the fabric,

I used parchment paper pinned to the

Fiber Art piece for the word placement.

 I hand embroidered

"be healed" in black Peale Cotton thread.

I'm not sure it was the best way to do it,

but it worked.

Gelli printing again - this time with masks of female shapes.

What fun!  I concentrated on paints of aqya gray & lime.

Now, I'm creating a small collage with 4 of them.

April Art Daily Update - Collaboration With Chloe

Day 15 April Art Daily  & Day 105 #ayearinstitches

When my 9 year old granddaughter gave me this drawing

, I knew right away it was a great composition and I planned to use it for a Fiber Art piece.

During the #ayearinstitches & April Art Daily challenges,

I hand embroidered the batik fabric pieces in collage style,

added accents and finally machine quilted it.

She loves it....me too.
