1st & 2nd Layer Painted Sun Dyed Fabric

Blue fabric paint, found circles, table salt
and flower leaves to create a background fabric
for a project in process. Can't go wrong with blue.
No photo description available.
A 2nd layer was purple fabric paint and more salt and found objects.
I used the left over paint on a folded additional fabric.
Out in the sunshine to cure again.

Hand Painting Fabric - Mickey Lawler Style

While looking for a fabric for the label of "What's In Your Hand?"
I decided to over paint a plain green hand dyed fabric.
This first one is using diluted Pebeo Setacolor Transparent paint
and the scrunch method.
This second piece is trying out a technique a fellow quilter learned in a
workshop with Mickey Lawler of Skydyes
sing a paint brush and salt.
They both came out nice.  I'll use the first one for my label.

Bonus Block ~ February Art Daily

During the February Art Daily Challenge
I combined  Day 14 with  Day 15
since they were already fused from a previous
project and only needed hand stitching.
And yet, as I'm preparing to piece
February Art Daily Leaves it needed one more block.
A fellow quilter suggested using another painted swirl background
which will fit nicely in the open space
next to Day 14 and Day 15.

Cutting Free Style ~ God Sustains You Banner

Drawing is not a creative art I've put
much effort in to. But today, I daringly
freely cut a mountain  utilizing fabric
I had previously dyed and felt
led to use for this banner.
I also stretched myself and drew a silhouette.
I turned the edges and machine stitched the mountain,
painted Ultrasuede and cut the silhouette.
I painted Ultrasuede grey and used a font for the letters.
This banner will be used at Chrysalis Flights in my area.
What a fun adventure!

February Art Daily 24

This daily challenge has been so good for me.
Hand stamped/painted fern leaves on
 hand dyed yellow fabric.
One of the 3 leaves smudged a bit but
 I'll probably keep it....thoughts??

Perfect Timing For Hand Painted Fabric

Awhile back I met with and  helped use up/ play
with some remaining  paints from a friend's class.
What a fun day.  I created a whimsical piece of fabric
using stencils, foam brushes etc. and of course
my favorite colors, aqua, purple, fushia and green
on a white background. This created fabric
didn't work in any project I auditioned it to be in...until now.
Perfect timing - often,it is hard to wait for, but worth it.
UPDATE - "Healing Waters" $350
