Subtle Trust In The Lord Quilted Art Wall Hanging

Trust In The Lord Proverbs 3:5 Quilted Art Wall Hanging
is completely hand pieced and quilted and won a ribbon in a Quilt Show competition.
Several blue, green, red and black & white batik fabrics combine in thid contemporary version of a traditional Bull's Eye design surrounded borders of blue and then green. One block is left uncut where "Trust in the Lord with all your heart" Proverbs 3:5 is hand embroidered in a circular fashion for a bit more whimsy.
This quilted art wall hanging measuring approximately 32 inches X 32 inches would be special for Christmas but also perfect for year round display. Hanging sleeve attached makes it ready to hang.

Diagonally Cutting Up Bull's Eyes

A few days ago I posted my options of cutting up
these Bull's Eye blocks.
I've decided to cut them diagonally but haven't actually cut them yet.
Any suggestions as to handling the bias?

Cutting Up Bull's Eyes

Continuing with this "all Hand" piece,
now I need to decide which direction to cut
the blocks before reassembling them.
I know which I prefer,
what's your opinion?

LIsa's Newest Hand Project

Lisa's aqua and blue fabrics are cut and ready for her random type piecing of a large quilt.  Notice her rubber glove finger tip that she uses for a finger guard.

Mary's Hand Quilt

Mary hand pieced this curvy flower "generous twin" quilt from remnants
and now is hand quilting it. She's offered me the pattern which is very tempting.

Green/Purple Batik Charm Quilt Progress

Can you see the black cross on the right hand side?
I am considering lightening up the darker purple piece 4th row down and 5th from the right. Now to hand embroider a verse.

Apple Core Hand Piecing

Apple core is a wonderful pattern for hand piecing. I'm using only green, purple and a few black batik fabrics  for this small wall hanging.  My plan is to create a true Charm Quilt which uses only 1 pattern shape (tessellation) and no repeating fabrics.

Forgotten Treasure

All hand pieced batik fabric , this wall hanging was created for my daughter when she was a missionary to Paraguay.  It was just recently returned to her, as she is currently in the states.  Imagine my delight to see it again hanging on the wall in the room where I slept as I visited her this past week. The verse is in Spanish  to the right of the cross.  I  had forgotten this treasure of a piece and how much I liked it.

Another all batik piece graced my daughter's dining area.
Thanks for a wonderful visit Melanie and treasuring the creations I give you.

Just A Wee Bit Short

This "all hand" wall hanging
reminds me that...
I like hand piecing.
I like hand quilting.
I'm not so sure about attaching
binding by hand.
And now, I'm awaiting the drying of
a piece of fabric I've over painted
to blend with the
 purple portion of the binding
that is just a wee but short.

Finagling or Wangling

Putting the isosceles triangles for a sideways border was a great idea until it came to actually making them fit. However, with a bit of finagling, wangling and just plain snipping here and there, they fit and the piece is finally ready to sandwich and hand quilt.
Now for a backing fabric.

Painting Purple

SetaColor to the rescue in creating more needed purple triangles from the remnant ones for the border. Now to press them back in shape and sew together.

More Triangles

My challenge to myself of this hand piecing piece is to use up the isosceles triangles from another already completed project. I ran out of purple triangles for the border and am now working with the aqua ones which limits my choices but that could be good. We'll see how it turns out.

I like Yellow

This sunny and happy background needs a strong border now that the "middle" section is completely hand pieced. I'm thinking of piecing more purple triangles together to make strips from them.

Powerless Handwork

I am SO thankful these pieces
were ready to hand sew when the power
went out early this AM.
Thankfully, we have power again...
lots for snow and ice but power!

"Winter" Quilt Contest

Here's my entry for the Quilting Gallery Contest.
Votes must be by Sun PM.
It's completely hand pieced and quilted.
Even the tiny raccoon is pieced
which I will NEVER do again!

Bull's Eye Update

I used an inexpensive plastic tablecloth back
to lay out the hand appliqued blocks.
It is a wonderful portable design wall.
After much time hand piecing the blocks together
and adding a flange edge and border,
it's sandwiched and ready to hand quilt.
Quilting design suggestions?

Happy Birthday USA!

Happy Birthday USA!
"If My people, who are called by My name,
will humble themselves and pray
and seek My face and
turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven,
and I will forgive their sin
and will heal their land."
II Chronicles 7:14
(Thanks Joe R. for the great small quilt rack!)
