Cross Body Green Knitted Fabric Purse

If you've ever knitted  batik fabric strips, you know it's a bit
challenging on the hands but gives great results.
So when I changed my style from this  Back Pack Knitted Fabric Purse
I re purposed the knitted portion in a smaller simple cross body purse
I added a fun flower fabric along with the quilted section of the

Embellished Purse

I really liked creating the fabric for this purse.
I really liked embellishing this purse.
And I'm really going to enjoy
using this purse.
But putting in the zipper reminded me
why I don't make purses more often.

Cross Body Red Purse

I've created my purses for many years and recently wanted a "new" red purse.
I recreated this simple cross body  red purse from another quilted project,
added a zipper pocket, and an Ultrasuede strap.
It's just the right size to carry the essentials. .

Choose Life Collage Green Purple Black Quilted Zippered Change Purse

I  began creating them these change purses several years ago
for my daughter who wanted something small
 instead of a  regular purse.
I've since created many and use them myself.
I use mine in my purse but it's also easy to
just take it along in my pocket.
There are only 4 left in my Etsy Shop.

Quilted/Knitted Backpack Purse

I designed a Quilted/Knitted Backpack Purse. It's great for keeping my hands free. It's made of knitted strips of batik fabric and then the same quilted fabric purse on top. The lining has pockets for lipstick, cell phone, pen and pencil. It's embellished with my favorite verse stamped on ultrasuede, various buttons, and strips of fabric. Any ideas of how to publish my pattern?

New Purple "Change Purse"

When my daughter was a teen, I made her a "change purse"
to carry her license etc. concisely in her pocket
instead of a purse per her request.
That began a time of creating ones for myself and others.
My well loved blue one has now been replaced
with a new purple one.
Maybe I'll begin making them again.

Red Felted Wool Purse From Vest

Once I was over the hurdle of actually cutting into
I chose to reuse the front zipper for the top
of my purse.

I added a lining, a strap and embellished the front.

Purse On a Shoestring

3 black flower buttons from Paraguay embellish this  small fun purse designed by my friend Carol R.
She even walked me through the process in creating it.
With 4 fun pockets inside including one that zips closed it is a wonderful size.
And yes,  the strap is a shoestring.

Purse Needle Keeper

I'm  preparing to take
along my Scrap Vortex Challenge piece - " Contemporary Saved Remnant"
to a meeting to sew the facing
so   I just need a few tools that would
easily slip inside my small quilted  fabric purse.
 I like to have 3 needles pre-threaded
in case the lighting isn't good at my destination.
This re-purposed tin protects my needles and

New Purse

This black fabric stripped purse is
similar to one I saw recently.
It was simple to create however but I'm not
totally satisfied with the button embellishment.
Any suggestions?

No More Growing Purse Strap

After one day of using this fun new
 the strap "grew" several inches.
Opening up the strap and inserting the
shirt placket from a discarded
men's shirt inside
should keep it from further growing.

Time For A New Quilted Purse

After machine quilting the batik fabric components
similar to the
"Cupcake" Maruca Sling Bag that I purchased
from a local gallery last year,
I fiddled with the design a bit more and
created another black and white cross body purse
for myself.
 It's similar to the
oyed the size and function so much that I've
I made earlier although a bit larger for my phone.

FUNky Buttons

Anyone familiar with my blog knows I like buttons - especially for embellishments. When my local quilt shop got in some of these FUNky buttons, I realized I'd finally found a way to embellish my thrift store purse and still allow it to compliment many outfits. I simply threaded torn strips of batik selvage and knotted it then sewed it to the purse. I think the first photo looks a bit like a cereal character advertised on TV. ** I'm still seeking opinions from yesterday's post. **

Knitted Purse Fabric

GW Boutique (Goodwill) was the spot where I found this batik rayon fabric which I plan to cut into 1/4 inch strips and knit into my next purse!  I'm thinking the waist ties would be great for the shoulder strap.  Stay tuned.

FAA Show & Tell

Fiber Arts Alliance is always inspiring
even when challenging weather causes
sparse attendance.
Ann knitted and felted this wonderful purse and
even though she didn't like how the chenille yard
didn't felt, the consensus was that it added
fun interest.
See the zipper closure/decoration on this
fun loop scarf made from ribbed fabric.
Great accent piece.
