Machine Quilting

I used the Escape Hatch method to sandwich the wall hanging quilt so it will not need a binding. Yea! Since this is a wall quilt that works fine. (I really like the P.S. I love you fabric!) My little recipient likes buttons too so lots of buttons in the finishing plans.

Stems Added

Progress is slow on this since we have some house guests.

Slow but sure and hope to have it done by Sat.

Circles

The recipient of this wall hanging really likes circles. Soooo, there will be lots of circles, Bull's Eye style, along with the verse with their name inserted.

This piece will be for a special little girl in my life.

Stay tuned.

Random Arts Day

Random Arts in Saluda, NC was the meeting place for a wonderful time of Show and Tell with blogging Mixed Media friends.
Martha Lever (left),whose Calligrifun Online class I am currently taking, Jane Powell (right) owns Random Arts and her assistant, Jen along with Sally and Carol . I was inspired, encouraged and came home to create these cards using a new stamp and ink pad.

Quilted Art Key Chains

Leaves are such a favorite shape.
These key chains were made to offer
a small piece of Quilted Art at a very
affordable price.

Bull's Eye Update

I used an inexpensive plastic tablecloth back
to lay out the hand appliqued blocks.
It is a wonderful portable design wall.
After much time hand piecing the blocks together
and adding a flange edge and border,
it's sandwiched and ready to hand quilt.
Quilting design suggestions?

Machine Writing Label

I used some masking tape to create lines
to keep the machine writing on
this label fairly straight.
First time I've machine written
a label.

Verse Added

This verse is tiny but it's on a miniature piece.
I had to rip out and redo a few
places but now it's good.

Rejoice

I have been doing some machine "writing"
lately and have been even more inspired by
Baumcat. (She's really good.)
The "extra" space in this block afforded room
for the word, "Rejoice". The red thread
makes it subtle but fun.

Batik Blouse

I usually don't sew clothing for myself because I haven't mastered how to make it fit well. However, optimistically, I asked Michele P. to help me with this pattern since it appeared simple - HA! Lots of gathers with batik fabric is a challenge and with the great design in the fabric it hardly even shows the gathers. It came out really pretty (can't go wrong with batiks) but it doesn't fit. Bummer. Maybe I'll look for a different pattern and try again.
Don't forget to comment for the 300th Post Give Away.

Happy Birthday USA!

Happy Birthday USA!
"If My people, who are called by My name,
will humble themselves and pray
and seek My face and
turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven,
and I will forgive their sin
and will heal their land."
II Chronicles 7:14
(Thanks Joe R. for the great small quilt rack!)

New Purse

This black fabric stripped purse is
similar to one I saw recently.
It was simple to create however but I'm not
totally satisfied with the button embellishment.
Any suggestions?
