Repurposed Candle Holder To Earring Holder

Not only do I enjoy re-purposing
fabric, I also enjoy thrift shopping
to find something fun to re-purpose.
This candle holder is a great solution to
hold my earrings and button bracelet.

Purple Leaf Preserved

Fall is happening.
This purple leaf will hopefully be preserved in the
fusible web sandwich I gave it.
Wish the camera could really capture the beautiful purple color.

Reversible Modern Clergy Stole Finished

This Clergy Stole began
with hand appliqued  light green leaves,
and an  oak leaf.
Later I  added some hand
and completed Side 1 with improvisational piecing.
Side 2 is created from a hand marbled
white fabric.
It's available in my ETSY Shop
and would make an excellent gift.

Ribbons From The WNC State Fair

I'd never entered the State Fair
even though my friend, Joy encouraged me each year as she did.
That is until, Joy passed away and now
I enter each year in her honor.
You can read about this knitted fabric quilted purse here.
 And this reversible Clergy Stole
is for sale in my Etsy Shop.
 This is the reverse side.

AND - this wall hanging also won a blue ribbon.
I'm so humbled and excited that my art found favor at the Fair.

Purse Needle Keeper

I'm  preparing to take
along my Scrap Vortex Challenge piece - " Contemporary Saved Remnant"
to a meeting to sew the facing
so   I just need a few tools that would
easily slip inside my small quilted  fabric purse.
 I like to have 3 needles pre-threaded
in case the lighting isn't good at my destination.
This re-purposed tin protects my needles and

Things Learned While Quilt As You Go

1- Cut excess batting after joining rows carefully
so you don't have to add a tiny strip of batting later.
2- Stay at least 1 1/2 inches away from edge to be joined
and don't leave open ended sections.
Possible yet, there's lots of starts and stops and thread.
See photos for some of the many threads that will need attention.
3 - Consider somewhat larger sections to quilt
creating less sections to hand sew the back on later.
Overall - I would use this technique again.
Considering the title "Contemporary Saved Remnants"

Hand Made Rose Water Coconut Oil Olive Oil Flax Seed Oil Soap

Time to create more hand made soap and wait
the 4-6 weeks to allow it to cure.

No scents this time since I find a pure and natural soap
 quite refreshing.

Joining Quilt As You Go Panels

progress contines as the 4 panels are ready to join.
This is new territory for me although
after seeking "how to" from the Web and
other quilters I think I can do it.
